What We Expect From Our Au Pair:

We basically want some assistance in all aspects of running our household, such as - helping out with getting the kids ready for school - cooking - shopping with our without Patrice - cleaning up the kitchen after dinner - occasionally babysitting in the evening - doing laundry - taxi service for the kids to therapy, hobby... - occasionally picking up the kids from school - weekend activities with the kids ... When Patrice will be hospitalised, it will be a little more than normal, as I would want to visit her, meet with her doctors,... We DO NOT expect you to - clean a 7 bedroom house our long-time cleaning lady does that - ironing see above, as long as all the laundry is washed by Monday - take over full care of the children - be on-call 24/7 - perform medical procedures Jessy, although it would be helpful if you were willing to learn some basics as did here school teacher - learn Dutch. The kids don't speak any English yet, but I'm sure you will be able to communicate. We still want to remain the primary caretakers of the children, so most of the schoolrun, doctor's appointments all, probe feeding, waking up, putting to bed, ... I will still take care of myself, but we would certainly expect you to help a little or a lot with most of that.

Family Description:

We are a happy family of mom Patrice 58, dad Steven 44 and 4 foster children Ricky 11, Kevin 10, Fieby 6 and Jessy 3. We are looking for help in our anything-but-ordinary household. All of our children are more or less "special needs", with problems rangeing from slight emotional problems over autism to a metabolic disorder, which requires gastric probe feeding. We have always managed just fine, but in August of 2019, Patrice was diagnosed with lymphoma. Since her treatment is going to be stepped up even more during the next 6 months, we need some help now in every aspect of our household. Sort of an extra big sister, that is around most of the time and helps out. Certainly challenging, but very rewarding for those who dare. Fantastic well behaved kids, comfortable surroundings, flexible parents. Looking forward to hear from you! Patrice and Steven
